The Time Between
As a photographer I find myself drawn to scenes of abandonment, where stories have ended remains for those who choose to see it. I’m intrigued by textures and the not quite new. Capturing the memory as the memory fades. Not looking for the memory once it has gone, or seeking a record of a memory before it became so.
As a creative medium photography has the unique ability to freeze that moment. No other medium, or even the human eye, can pause and record such moments in an instant. The archival qualities of photography stops disintegration in its tracks, leaving a record of that moment in history. Even static subjects are constantly moving along an aged path.
I seek out these moments with my camera, recording them in this series: The Time Between.
